La historia de Lada

Lada granta

VAZ-2101 First produced in 1970

In 1970, AvtoVAZ produced the first Lada... The first Lada, or VAZ as you may call it, was a different more rugged version of the Fiat 124 sedan. It featured a more rugged design like steel panels improved strength for components. Which improved the reliability on Russia's dirt roads, or bumpy roads. It was originally going to be named Zhiguli, but non-Russian speakers found it too hard to pronounce. Since the car was going to be used on soviet roads it featured rugged drum brakes and an overhead camshaft engine, and better suspension. The brand was thought of as a reliable brand with a solid reputation.

Lada 110 introduced, 1995

In 1995, AvtoVAZ introduced the Lada 110... In 1995 AvtoVAZ introduced the Lada 110. The model came in a sedan, station wagon, and a hatchback version. The developmental costs were estimated to be 2 billion. In 1997, AvtoVAZ was forced to withdraw from the european markets due to other car manufactures taking over the market. The VAZ-2120 was interestingly enough, a minivan. AvtoVAZ's manufacturing wasnt that good. Nearly 50,000 instances of cars being assembled with missing parts occurred. They also introduced the Kalina-b segment which they built a new plant to produce. It featured the Lada Kalina which is a small hatch.

2007, AvtoVAZ introduced the Lada Priora

In March 2007, They started producing the Lada Priora... In March 2007, the Lada Priora was introduced as a restyled and modernized version of the Lada-110. Sold from 2009 to 2018, the last Priora famously rolled off the assembly line with a Russian inscription on the side that simply said "Last!" Alongside this, they introduced the subcompact Lada Granta, which remains in production and still sells today. However, due to shifting manufacturing conditions, recent models often reach customers without most standard safety features. This transition marks a significant chapter for AvtoVAZ, balancing the Priora's decade-long legacy with the Granta's ongoing, though simplified, presence in the market.

Production quality go down after 2022

In May 2022 With the Russia and Ukraine war, production halted for AvtoVAZ. Due to international sanctions, Russian automaker AvtoVAZ was forced to strip modern safety features like airbags and ABS from its lineup. This supply chain crisis led to the resumption of production for aging models and the introduction of "simplified" versions of the Lada Granta to keep the factory running. By 2026, the company continues to rely on these basic configurations alongside established nameplates. The current Russian automotive market features a mix of rugged survivors and updated essentials, with the available sales roster consisting of the Lada Granta, Vesta, Niva, Largus, and the newer Iskra and Azimut models.
